Miss Patricia

Miss Patricia T.C.R.G
Patricia Finnegan has been a certified teacher with An Coimisiún le Rincí Gaelacha since December of 2003. This was the natural step for her following an extremely successful, 19 year competitive career in which she accomplished many top ten finishes at both national and international competitions. Throughout her competitive years, Patricia also earned many top place finishes at the North American, All Ireland, Great Britain’s, British Nationals and World Irish Dance Championships. Patricia qualified for the World Championships an impressive 15 times. Patricia began competing in the Eastern Canadian oireachtas (championship) at the age of five and never placed lower then 3rd in this qualifying event! Her accomplishments also won her the title of All Canadian Champion, at the Montreal Feis and All American Champion at the Washington D.C feis.
As well as the accomplishments made in her competitive career, Patricia has also had the pleasure of performing on many theatre stages, auditoriums and outdoor venues with such known names at Natalie McMaster, Leahy, and the Irish Descendents. She performed at Toronto’s Princess of Wales theatre in Ed Mervish’s production of Needfire, Passion of the Heart in 1998 and also travelled North America in 2002, performing the solo in Chicago’s Trinity Irish Dance Company.
As well as being an accomplished dancer, Patricia has put much time into her academic studies earning a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Wilfrid Laurier University as well as a Diploma in Early Childhood Education from Sheridan College. Her education has earned her a successful career as an early childhood educator by day and dance teacher by night! Re-opening the Finnegan School has been a dream of hers since an early competitive age. Patricia looks forward to helping children work towards personal goals, develop physical skills and reach a level of personal best while developing a love for the dance and the music.
